Our parents didn’t always know how to consciously express love. They didn’t have a choice to always be loving and kind. Just the same way we aren’t always kind with our self. One of the main causes of suffering is self rejection. It has been handed down for generations. With awareness you realize that the only way out of the suffering is to forgive them, and forgive yourself. With the practice of this awareness and forgiveness you are on your way to compassion.
